What are the 7 chakras? The other 4 lesser-known chakras revealed

The word chakra means ‘Wheel’ in Sanskrit, they are circular-shaped spiritual energy centers located on the energy body responsible for maintaining physical and mental wellbeing.

Starting at the base of the spine and moving up to the crown, the 7 commonly known chakras include:

1: Root chakra also known as Mooladhara chakra

2: Sacral chakra also known as Swadhisthana chakra

3: Solar Plexus chakra also known as Manipura chakra

4: Heart chakra also known as Anahata chakra

5: Throat chakra also known as Vishuddhi chakra

6: Third eye chakra also known as Ajna chakra

7: Crown chakra also known as Sahasrara chakra

As per ancient teachings and books written on chakras over time, it is a common belief that there are only 7 energy centers or chakras on the human body, however, as per Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, the founder of Modern Pranic Healing and after conducting several successful experiments, he concluded that there are 11 major chakras along with other mini and minor chakras.

8: Forehead chakra is also known as Third eye chakra

9: Spleen chakra

10: Navel chakra also known as Nabhi chakra

11: Meng Mein

Grandmaster Choa Kok Sui was a chemical engineer and is considered one of the greatest Masters of Energy of this generation as a result of his research and experimentation on the wise use of subtle energy for over 30 years.

And therefore he mentions about 11 chakras instead of 7 chakras in all the books he has written. He has clearly mentioned the physical and psychological functions of the chakras and how each chakra is responsible and has specific functions to perform failing which can result in physical or emotional disorder.

What is each chakra responsible for?

The chakras spin clockwise and anticlockwise and absorb prana, this prana is the life energy or vital force that keeps the physical body and mind healthy, and the chakras should be open and active to live a disease-free life.

  • Mooladhara chakra

Functions: The Root chakra governs action, so when it is in good health, open, and active you are more likely to succeed professionally. Your physical energy is determined by your root chakra. Your efforts to survive or earn a living become easier as this chakra makes you action-oriented and dynamic.

Functions: This chakra is responsible for higher positive emotions. Love, peace, kindness, compassion, etc are some of the examples. When your heart chakra is overdeveloped and you are excessively loving and caring, you might be taken for granted and exploited and therefore it is important to balance your heart chakra with the other chakras.

  • Throat chakra

Location: At the center of the throat

Functions: This chakra governs expression and effective communication. This is also the center for higher creativity. It is through your throat chakra that you excel in creativity or art. Great artists have a strong throat chakra and also sex chakra as sex chakra is the lower correspondence of the throat chakra.

  • Ajna chakra

Location: Between the eyebrows

Functions: This chakra governs the will of the person. It also regulates emotions as it is the higher correspondence of the Solar Plexus chakra, if you know someone with extreme mood swings or extreme behavioral patterns, it is likely that their Ajna chakra is congested or blocked.

Location: At the top of the head

Functions: This chakra is responsible for your connection with the divine. When the crown chakra is open and activated your connection to the higher consciousness is stronger which drives you to lead a spiritual life, loving everyone, serving everyone, it facilitates universal love and manifests the will to do good.

  • Forehead chakra

Location: At the center of the forehead.

Functions: This chakra governs your wisdom and intuition. As per Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, the forehead chakra gives access to the spiritual world. When you make use of intelligence you are ought to get results however when you use the faculty of intelligence along with intuition success is guaranteed.

  • Spleen chakra

Location: At the center of the left bottom rib

Functions: This chakra is the entry point for life energy or prana of the body and from this point, it is distributed to all other chakras. This chakra determines the energy level of the person. When this chakra is in balance, open and active you feel strong and healthy both physically and emotionally.

  • Navel chakra

Location: At the navel

Functions: This chakra produces ‘golden chi’ energy, this ‘chi’ energy facilitates the circulation of air prana within the meridians, people with more ‘chi’ energy can draw in more prana. This energy is necessary for the people on the spiritual path for rapid evolution of the physical body so their body is strong enough to handle more intense energy.

  • Meng Mein

Location: Located at the back of the navel

Functions: This chakra is responsible to regulate and distribute prana from the root chakra to the higher chakras, it has the potential to transmute lower energies from the root chakra into higher energies. When you suffer from hypertension, kidney issues, back problems, it is the Meng Mein chakra that is affected and needs healing.

What is chakra’s healing?

Chakras are located on the energy body, and so are not visible to the naked eyes, however, some clairvoyants or evolved beings can see them, and found them circular-shaped and colorful. Clairvoyants can also see if the chakras are blocked or open.

Chakra healing is a practice of cleansing the chakras and restoring them to their original state. Chakra or pranic healing practitioners scan to check what chakras are affected, and cleanse the chakra for any negative emotions or diseased energies and replenish the chakra with fresh spiritual energy or prana.

Pranic Healing was founded by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, he devoted over 30 years of his life to studying energy and founded the Institute of Inner Studies in 1989. Master left his body in 2007, he wrote around 22 books translated over 27 languages and spread the teachings of Pranic healing in over 40 countries.

Although it is highly recommended that crystals should be worn only under expert advice and guidance, some people also try and wear them for some time and carefully observe for any changes, if there are any negative impacts then it is recommended to not use them anymore, however its recommended to keep wearing for any positive changes.

Crystals need cleansing from time to time to exhibit pure energy as they tend to absorb negative energy when used over a period of time. Crystals can be cleaned using salt and water or holding it under running tap water. We can also use incense sticks to clean the negative energy around them.
