To treat asthma effectively, it is necessary to monitor your symptoms and assess how well your lungs are functioning.

Monitoring your asthma treatment regularly will help prevent asthma attacks and long-term complications in life, and can help in maintaining better control to prevent asthma attacks or any pain or suffering caused.

In addition to conventional medications, there are a number of complementary therapies available to treat asthma.

Pranic or Chakra Healing is one such therapy where the chakras are treated and healed. Chakras are whirling energy centers that control the vital organs of the body that affect the physical and psychological conditions.

Is Asthma a breathing condition?

An asthma attack is a chronic respiratory condition that causes the airways to be tightened and inflamed and may produce extra mucus. As a result of this, breathing can become challenging. One may experience neck and shoulder pain, ear infections, cough, make a whistling sound when they exhale, and have shortness of breath.

How do you know you suffer from Asthma?

For an asthmatic patient, symptoms can vary from person to person, one may have all the symptoms listed below, or some of them, asthma attacks also vary, it can be mild for some and severe for another.

Some people have asthma attacks frequently, practically every day. For some, these attacks may occur during workouts or while suffering from cold or sinusitis.

  • Breathlessness
  • Feelings of tightness or pain in the chest
  • Exhalation with wheezing
  • Feeling breathless, coughing and wheezing make it difficult to sleep.
  • Illnesses brought on by a respiratory virus like colds and flu that worsen coughing and wheezing
  • Coughing excessively especially during the night

You are at high risk if you continue to have breathing issues and are using your inhalers more than prescribed, your peak flow meter is showing a range that is lower than normal, it’s best to consult a doctor immediately.

Chakras affected in Asthma

Various organs in the body receive energy or Prana from the chakras that maintain the energy flow. Many ailments are influenced by the malfunctioning of the chakras. In addition to their physical functions, Chakras are also known for their emotional functions.

Any illness on the physical body is a manifestation of imbalance within the corresponding chakras. The chakra balancing technique cleanses and energizes the chakras with life force energy to bring them into balance and harmony. Some Upper chakras along with the Root chakra are treated for Asthmatic patients.

  • Throat or Vishuddhi Chakra:

The throat chakra is located at the center of the throat. This chakra controls the lymphatic system, thyroid gland, trachea, thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, and larynx.

In asthmatic patients most often the air tubes or the windpipes are constricted and hence it is vital to healing the throat chakra thoroughly.

  • Secondary Throat Chakra:

This chakra is located just below the Throat chakra. It controls the salivary glands and esophagus and also the carotid arteries going to the head.

  • The Heart or Anahata Chakra:

This chakra is located in front of the heart or at the center of the chest. The back heart chakra is located at the back of the heart. The front heart chakra controls the heart and thymus gland, while the back heart chakra controls the lungs, the heart, the thymus gland, and the circulatory system.

A blocked Heart Chakra can lead to stress or emotional imbalances.

Only after a few healing sessions, patients are relieved of the asthma symptoms that are usually caused by emotional imbalances, since the Heart chakra is also responsible for emotional factors.

The solar plexus chakra is located at the hollow area between the ribs. The back solar plexus is located at the back of the front solar plexus. Organs controlled by the solar plexus chakra include digestive organs such as the diaphragm, stomach, liver and pancreas.

When Asthma is caused due to emotional reasons such as stress, anxiety, constant fear then the front and back solar plexus have to be cleaned thoroughly, this helps the patient in releasing all the stress hormones and allows new positive life force energy to flow smoothly enabling the vital organs to function optimally.

  • The Basic or Mooladhara or Root Chakra:

This Chakra is located at the base of the spine. It controls the muscular and skeletal systems. The Root chakra strengthens the whole physical body. If the root chakra is weak or blocked then the whole body tends to get weak.

  • Forehead Chakra:

This Chakra or the Third eye chakra is located at the center of the forehead. The forehead chakra is responsible for controlling and energizing the pineal gland and nervous system

  • Ajna Chakra:

The Ajna chakra is located in the area between the eyebrows. The Ajna chakra controls the pituitary gland, the endocrine glands, and energizes the brain to a certain extent.

  • Navel Chakra:

This chakra is located at the navel. It controls the digestive system. Any stomach-related issues are a result of an imbalance in the navel chakra.

  • Sex or Sacral Chakra:

The Sex or Sacral Chakra is located in the Pubic area. This chakra controls the sex organs, bladder, and urethra.

These foods provide vitamins C and E, as well as antioxidants like beta-carotene which may help in reducing swelling in the airways. The antioxidants such as beta-carotene, vitamin C, and E help in reducing inflammation in the airways making it easier to breathe and give you more energy.

Some foods that trigger your asthma must be avoided since you may be allergic to them. Asthmatic patients should stay away from dairy products.

There are clinical studies suggesting that caffeine may have beneficial effects on asthma symptoms. This study demonstrated that caffeine in small amounts could improve lung functioning for as much as four hours following consumption.
